Microsoft has released version 1.4 of its wildly useful utility SyncToy, a free program for copying, moving, renaming and deleting files between folders and computers. Here’s the page for downloading the new version. If you’ve already been using SyncToy, uninstall the previous version before installing this update.
SyncToy automates a variety of tasks involving synchronization of folders in two different places. If you’re building up a library of digital photos or music files, for example, SyncToy can automatically keep a second copy of those files up to date on an external hard drive for backup. Here’s a link to a white paper about how SyncToy can be used.
