The world is awash with music, but the latest offering is a slice of heaven for anyone growing up in the 60s and 70s. Wolfgangs Vault is run by Bill Sagan, an entrepreneur who purchased the archives of legendary promoter Bill Graham and discovered thousands of hours of concert recordings by the performers that defined the era.
There are now more than 300 complete concerts that can be streamed for free from the site, and more are being added all the time. Sound quality is generally quite good and the selection is awe-inspiring – Led Zeppelin, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, The Who, The Allman Brothers Band, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Grateful Dead, Cream, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Dire Straits, and many more – all unreleased, all free.
The web site pays royalties as an “online radio station” and believes that will allow it to sidestep the goons from the RIAA. Listen while you can – this seems too good to last.
