Looking through blogs (“web logs”) occupies most of my web-surfing time these days. Everybody has heard the term but some people aren’t sure what a blog is or where to find one.
Whether you realize it or not, you’ve already started reading blogs. That’s what this news page is – entries in chronological order, most recent at the top. From Wikipedia’s entry:
“Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art, photographs, sketchblog, videos, music, audio (podcasting) and are part of a wider network of social media.”
PC Magazine has compiled a list of their favorite 100 blogs which includes many of my favorites. Celebrity gossip, technology and gadgets, politics – it’s a good way to discover some new ways to waste time online.
