Pocket PCs are far more appealing than Palm devices, but prices have been high on the few models that have been available. On Thursday, Microsoft is releasing a new version of the Pocket PC operating system software, and thirteen companies are releasing new devices. Microsoft has insisted that the companies meet stringent hardware requirements, so all the devices should be quite nice, and when more players enter the field, it should cause prices to go down.
