Researchers at the Internet Storm Center hooked PCs to the Internet without the various security patches and updates released by Microsoft over the last three years. The computers were compromised by malware within twenty minutes. That’s not long enough to download the security updates needed to protect the computers. There is an appalling amount of stuff out there waiting for you to relax your guard!
I’ve cleaned adware/spyware/crap off computers every day this week. I’ll do it again tomorrow. Two of them were effectively killed by the crud; they have to be reformatted. You better believe I’m anxious for people to install Windows XP Service Pack 2!
