Microsoft Surface Pro 1st Gen is the first hybrid tablet designed and manufactured by Microsoft. It’s a portable 2-in-1 computing device in a seamless casing with bezel edges and a flip-out kickstand. A magnet lock and a pogo pin power connector are added in the bottom for a detachable keyboard\cover. The touch screen supports 10 touches and the handwriting with a Wacom digital pen (not included). It has a USB 3.0 port, 3.5 mm audio socket, 2 microphones, a speaker, a Mini Display Port, one HD webcam in the front and one in the rear, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0.

PROBLEMS
The Surface Pro 1st gen laptops tend to run hot and have relatively short battery life. Those are characteristic of this model, not defects of this particular laptop. Same thing with the power connector – it’s notoriously finicky about being in just the right position. Microsoft wound up redesigning it for later models.
